Now this recipe is one that even I have to admit is very interesting. I haven’t had the pleasure of eating bread with anything other than beverage (hot chocolate), soda, stew, beans and of course water. I often hear people have bread with soup and it always have me puzzled, how do you mix flour with oil, pepper, vegetables and water; how would such a meal taste lol.

Oxtail Soup

Well with this interesting recipe I have for you today, we could just get a good idea how delicious it looks, how it’s made and just how interesting it would taste. It’s worth giving a try this Oxtail stew recipe. Might I also add that this soup is made with cow’s tail which is an absolute delight if you ask me.

  • Oxtail (Cow’s tail)
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Green pepper
  • Thyme
  • Smoked paprika
  • Curry
  • Scotch bonnet peppers
  • Tomato paste
  • Seasoning cubes
  • Cannelini beans
  • Carrot
  • Potatoes

Directions on how to prepare Oxtail Stew Recipe

Season oxtail with salt and pepper and set in a pot, add two table-spoon of oil in a sauce pan and allow it heat. Add the Oxtail in the pan and allow it to fry a bit (brown up). Add your chopped onions, green onions, garlic, thyme, spices, smoke paprika and stir it for a minute, allowing the spices to blend with the oxtail. Add the bonnet pepper, tomato paste, seasoning, curry powder and stir gently.

Now you transfer the pot into a slow cooker where you add carrot, beans and potatoes, add required amount of water, cover and cook for 7-8 hours until you have gotten your desired tenderness. Once done, you can serve with bread or rice.

I know this is a very interesting recipe lol. I really don’t know how it tastes but I know with all those flavours and spices, you will definitely get a good, delicious balance.

As usual, here’s a video that really shows how this interesting dish would come out. Enjoy!
