Coconut Fish Curry and Rice

Happy New Month! This is gonna be a good month, wanna know why? By force or by fire, one of you will learn a new recipe this month lol. I need to ask though, ever heard of Coconut Fish Curry? Yes! It is an Indian recipe and I’ve been itching to try out one of their many recipes. This one looks quite easy to prepare, I don’t know about you but when I hear about these recipes, I just smile lol. Let me not talk too much, let’s get straight to it shall we?

Have this delcious, and memorable dish done and ready in less than 45 minutes.

Coconut fish curry


  • Fish (nicely cut)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • Tumeric
  • Vegetable oil
  • Onions
  • Ginger
  • Cloves of garlic
  • Cumin
  • Coriander
  • Pepper
  • Tomato paste
  • Butternut squash and potatoes
  • Coconut milk
  • Rice (of course)

Directions on how to prepare Coconut Fish Curry and Rice

Prepare a bowl and add the fish in it, season with salt, black pepper, lime juice, and half of the tumeric. Stir gently so the it could mix well with the fish. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the onion a little, add ginger, garlic, salt, tumeric, and other spices and cook for a while to allow the spices cook. Add the tomato paste, cook for a minute, prepare a separate bowl and add the butternut squash and potato mix, add little water, cover and microwave until soft. Tip the mixture into the pot, stir and cover pot.

Add the coconut milk, water, salt and black pepper, cover the pot and allow it simmer for 10-12 mins. Add the marianated fish to the coconut sauce in the pot and cook until the fish cooked very well, soft and if possible, break it into sizeable chunks. Take the pot down, add a bit of lime juice and serve with rice.
