Directions on how to prepare Cajun Shrimp and Grits

Saute the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until brown and crisp for about 5 minutes, set it aside. Add about a tablespoon of oil and butter on a pan, add the shrimp, season with cajun salt, and saute the shrimp until crisp. Add the garlic, paprika, bell pepper, parsley and green onions into the pan. Add some broth (milk) into the pan, cook for some minutes then add the shrimps. You can add lemon juice for taste, add the bacon, and season with pepper and salt.

While preparing your grits, add the milk (water), bay leaf, and salt into a saucepan, add the grits into the pot, whisk it gently to avoid lumps, reduce the heat and cook grits, frequently stirring until water is absorbed and thickened. Remove the grits, add the butter and cheese, stir the cheese until it melts, serve with cajun shrimp and sauce.
